Opportunities

Opportunities for student organizing include the Social Work Club, the Phi Alpha Honor Society, the Social Work Alumni Network (SWAN), and numerous events throughout the year sponsored by the School of Social Work and these student organizations. Students are encouraged to become involved through frequent announcements, mailings, and informal contact. Students also are made aware of these organizations through the School's web site.

Honors

Departmental Honors in Social Work requires 12 hours of honors credits in Social Work. Any major course may be upgraded to an honors course. Please visit the Honors Program Web site to learn how to join the Honors Program and opportunities for honors students.

Social Work Club

The Social Work club is open to all students, regardless of major. Click here to find out what the social work club does or Visit the Social Work Club Web site for general information on the club. To receive informational e-mails for Social Work Club and the Social Work Major, and enter your name in the body of the e-mail message. Then send the message. We will add you to our list.

Events

Each year Illinois State University Social Work faculty and students join over 500 Social Workers and students from across the state for a day of training and lobbying in Springfield, Illinois.
